We've Got The Jazz! Vol. 6 - The Music of Women in Jazz

We've Got the Jazz is ODB's monthly live series led by local musician David Lavoie alongside a rotating lineup of Calgary's top jazz musicians. Each volume pays tribute to an artist or sound that has shaped jazz's rich history.

In celebration of International Women's Day, Vol. 6 highlights the music of women in jazz. This special evening features Vancouver's Madeleine Elkins, Juno nominated drummer Sanah Kadoura, and David Lavoie. The trio will perform music by Emily Remler, Mary Halvorson, Amy Shook, and Cheryl Bailey, along with selections from Madeleine's latest album Brighton Train.

Guests are encouraged to enjoy dinner and drinks throughout the evening. Reservations are aligned with the music to create a relaxed flow. Live sets begin at 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Smaller groups are seated for up to 90 minutes, larger groups for up to two hours.

David Lavoie, Dan Goldstein and Jeff Gammon will reinterpret music inspired by his remarkable catalogue in an evening that explores the lasting connection between hip-hop and jazz.

    We've Got The Jazz! returns July 10th with a tribute to Sonny Rollins' legendary 1957 album Way Out West. Featuring Mitchell Prentice, Dan Goldstein, and Adam Pettigrew, Vol. 10 explores one of the most celebrated recordings in jazz history through an evening of live performance, dinner, and drinks.
